Thanks for help with observing Lithuanian Independence Day
To the Editor:
I write on behalf of the Lithuanian-American Brothers And Sisters (LABAS) of Greater Nashua, of which I am the current president. I would like to acknowledge the generous and efficient assistance of Mayor Donnalee Lozeau and her capable and friendly staff in helping to make observance of Lithuanian Independence Day on February 16 possible.
I know from the numerous favorable comments I received from attendees that their efforts before and on that cold, wintry morning are very much appreciated.
We were able to honor with a brief speaking program, flying of the Lithuanian national flag and laying of a tri-colored wreath at City Hall not only our patriotic ancestors who fought and died for freedom in Lithuania, but also those who emigrated to settle in Nashua and add to our cityâs rich cultural heritage.
Labai aciu ! Thank you very much.

Romp through Louvre proves enchanting
What do an elegiac fugue, Native Americans and ancient horrors have in common?
Theyâre each the subject of a terrific trio of upcoming graphic novels.
First up is the latest in NBMâs âThe Louvreâ series, in which different creators craft an original story whose only connection is the famous French museum. There have been four others up to now, but âAn Enchantmentâ (coming March 19, $19.99) might be the best so far.
The plot, if you consider this dreamlike story to have one, is of a rich, politically important old man bailing out on his own retirement party, which is being held in the Musee de Louvre. After a lifetime of being Mr. Responsible, he sneaks off with two bottles of wine into the closed and darkened galleries.

Article 11
Buttercup
Have you ever seen a more beautiful face? My name is Buttercup, and Iâm an older girl with a big heart.
I was found as a stray, and the veterinarian here thinks that Iâm around 12 years old. I still have plenty of life left to live, and really enjoy snuggling with staff and volunteers. Youâll know itâs me because of my cute face and tail that wonât stop wagging!
I would do best in a calm, adult-only home, since Iâm mature. I have some special needs because of being a senior lady, but I donât let them deter me from living a happy life.
