NASHUA â Ask any adult frantically rushing from one task to the next how theyâre feeling and chances are the answer will be âstressed.â
Is it any surprise then that their children are often feeling the same way? The Art of Living Foundation, a nonprofit educational and humanitarian non-governmental organization that participates in stress-management and service initiatives worldwide may help.
According to Ram Chelakara, program director and state coordinator for New Hampshire, the Art of Living has been active in Nashua for the past three years, offering stress-elimination programs for adults including breathing techniques, meditation and yoga.
âBy empowering individuals to get rid of stress and experience inner peace and harmony in the midst of their busy and hectic lives, we are building in turn a peaceful and harmonious community and society,â Chelakara said.
Building on the success of their programs for adults, the Art of Living has created ART EXCEL designed for children ages 8-13. The first sessions will be held April 20-23 at the Art of Living center, 25 Merritt Parkway in Nashua. ART EXCEL, or All Around Training in Excellence, is a workshop covering all aspects of a childâs development. Sessions run Friday, April 20, from 6-8 p.m.; Saturday, from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.; Sunday, 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., and Monday 6-8 p.m.
