There are a few things in life that remain pretty constant, and it is always comforting to come across something that hasnât changed much over the past 150 years.
While I was looking for something else, since I had forgotten I had it and have no recollection of where I got it, I came across a copy of the âOld Farmerâs Almanackâ for 1852, which was volume 60. The format has changed very little.
My copy is very fragile, quite yellow and it doesnât have the trademark hole in the upper left-hand corner â said to be there so it could be hung in the outhouse. Sort of like todayâs bathroom reading.
The old book is much thinner, 48 pages compared to the 250 or so in todayâs, and it has no advertising other than a back page listing of other books from the publisher.
