Alvirne High Schoolâs Class Act thespians presented âAn Evening of One-Actsâ on Nov. 16-17.
The show was held in the gymnasium, and guests were entertained with two performances each evening.
The first act performed was âMarcus is Walking,â directed by English teachers Lauren Denis and Marianne Hedges. The play was a montage of scenarios demonstrating the twists and turns of life.
Each scene contained a different set of characters, and none of the characters appeared in the play more than once. Each of the scenes contained the same set â a road that the characters were driving down to tie in the theme of life being a road with unexpected turns and bumps.
With everything from a couple getting lost on their way to a potluck dinner (juniors Katherine Pereira and Samn Bernstein) to a girl on her way to her first date (junior Shelby Monas) to a father driving his son around trick-or-treating (senior Connor Kennedy and freshman Sam Long), âMarcus is Walkingâ was an enjoyable play that engaged the audience, perhaps causing them to think back on their own life experiences.
The second act was âThe Brute,â directed by English teacher Timothy LâEcuyer.
