YMCA receives energy rebate from National Grid

NASHUA – The YMCA of Greater Nashua has received a welcome birthday present from National Grid. The Y, which just celebrated its first anniversary on Stadium Drive, has received a major grant as part of the National Grid Gas Efficiency Program offered through National Grid Gas. The rebate was awarded, thanks in large part to an energy management system that regulates all aspects of the Y by controlling heating, cooling, lighting and more, based on the needs of that part of the facility. The energy-efficiency equipment installed with the energy-efficiency incentive from National Grid includes upgrades to the facility’s heating plant, installation of radiant heating and a high efficiency pool heater. “We are incredibly proud to receive this $117,000 grant from National Grid. When designing this building, we really wanted to create a Y that was both family-friendly and environmentally-friendly to better serve the people of Greater Nashua.
