PELHAM â Cub Scout Pack 25 practiced âPull Togetherâ at the annual Nutfield Chuckwagon Derby.
The Scoutsâ wagon was filled high with rope, hammer, wrench, pliers, screwdrivers, first aid kit, snack, lunch and rain gear practicing âLeave No Traceâ as they hiked the grounds of Camp Carpenter.
Working as a team, they pulled their wagon around the Nutfield Long Pond chanting and cheering along the way. Parents, family and friends gathered to watch as the boys went from station to station to perform various tasks and answer questions geared for all ranks.
Stations included inspection of uniform, bike and rodeo safety, rocketry, BB shooting, first aid, Cub knowledge, knots, conservation, obstacle course, craftsman, outdoor living and citizenship.
The boys earned points at each station. At the obstacle course, the Scouts were told they had performed the best that day so far.
The Chuckwagon Derby is a traditional Cub and Boy Scout competition.
