Center celebrates 40 years of learning

The Adult Learning Center in Nashua is celebrating 40 years of providing education, support and training to the residents of Greater Nashua by reflecting on the accomplishments of its students over four decades. At a recent anniversary event, speakers paid tribute to the 14,500 adults who have improved academic skills through Adult Education Classes and the 9,000 adults who have earned their high school equivalency  diploma. One such student, Robert Corfield was the event’s keynote speaker, accompanied by his proud grandson, Jesse. Corfield told the audience that when he dropped out of high school he was unable to read or write. “I made it to the 11th grade, walked out of school and into mediocre jobs because I had no diploma.
