Adults look back on it as a huge accomplishment in their lives.
Underclassmen wish for it to come as fast as it can.
But seniors â seniors are in love with the moment theyâre living.
Of course, Iâm talking about graduation. In a beautifully conducted ceremony at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester on June 14, the Alvirne High School class of 2012 took a lovely little stroll through the auditorium and came back with the key to our futures.
There was much talk of âthe next chapter,â as well as wanting to âalways be Broncos.â There was nerve-wracking anticipation as we all stood outside in the sun waiting for what ended up seeming to be the quickest two and a half hours of my life, at least.
When we all filed in to take our seats, the feeling was crazy, as if we all didnât know how to feel. But looking up to see the family, friends and special ones in the crowd cheering and smiling down at us was amazing.
For me, there couldâve been no prouder moment than to see them feeling proud of me, and being there just to celebrate my accomplishments.
Except maybe when I rose to get my diploma and they yelled louder than any hooligans Iâve ever heard. The fact that their cheers broke through my concentration on not tripping or making any weird faces still amazes me.
