MILFORD â The Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley was selected to receive $10,000 in nationwide Boys & Girls Club of America and Disney filmmaking contest.
The prize, which will support arts programming, was driven from the premiere of âPirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,â in which ticket proceeds from the event were donated to the Boys & Girls Club of America.
The film from members of the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley was among 10 film projects that were chosen for creative approaches in a Claymation short film and music video. A panel of judges from Disney, Regal and Comcast selected the winners.

âDisney has provided us with so many opportunities, and we are thankful to have such a special relationship with them that dates back many years,â said Roxanne Spillet, president and CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of America.
âThis latest collaboration will help provide club members with new resources to be creative and discover talents through the arts.â
Through Disneyâs support for more than 50 years, the Boys & Girls Club of America has been able to rebuild clubs in the wake of natural disasters and to refurbish playgrounds, basketball courts and teen center rooms. Through Disneyâs VoluntEARs program and company campaigns such as Give a Day, Get a Day, Disney has also offered aid by way of service.
The Disney legacy of support began when Walt Disney was made an honorary member of the Boys & Girls Club of America Board of Governors.
