Souhegan High School senior Alexis Ierardi was presented the Friesian Horse Association of North America Youth Dressage Award recently.
Ierardi said the award is given to the person younger than 21 who has accumulated the most points by competing in United States Equestrian Federation or U.S. Dressage Federation competitions, along with schooling shows.
There is one more important qualification for this award.
âYou have to ride a Friesian,â Ierardi said. âI ride Bouke H. He is a full-papered, approved KFPS, or Dutch-registered, Friesian born in Holland.â
Ierardi said, âI never imagined receiving any awards, let alone a national one.
