BG fasts for Nashua Food Pantry

Each year during Lent, Bishop Guertin High School starts to raise money to support its sister school in Zambia, thousands of miles away in Africa. It has various fundraisers throughout the school, and this year, the Mr. BG Pageant also raised money for the cause. However, this year, senior Rose Gilday had the idea to help those who are hungry and closer to home. So on March 23-24, BG had its first 24 Hour Fast to get food for the Nashua Food Pantry. Students stayed overnight at the school and made lunches to give to the Nashua Food Pantry while fasting from 5 p.m. Friday until the same time the next day – a full day without food. BG students from freshmen to seniors signed up for the fast through Campus Ministry.
