NH Teen Institute was recognized by Volunteer NH on Tuesday, November 8th at the Capitol Center for the Arts in Concord. The Spirit of New Hampshire Awards Celebration, hosted by Volunteer NH in collaboration with the Office of the Governor, honors outstanding contributions to volunteerism throughout the state of New Hampshire. The Volunteer Service Awards are given annually in recognition of volunteers and volunteer programs. Governor Lynch greeted the attendees and Tiffany Eddy of WMUR announced the award recipients citing, “The New Hampshire Teen Institute Youth Advisory Staff (YAS) are high school teen volunteers from Jaffrey to Franconia that make a difference with their peers through active volunteerism. The YAS team takes part in staff training, helps participants at the Institute fit in, encourages participants to meet lots of new people, and works to create a safe emotional environment for participants to learn and grow.” NH Teen Institute, a nonprofit organization established in 1983, runs youth prevention and empowerment programming with the help of over 150 youth and adult volunteers around the state.
