NASHUA â United Way of Greater Nashuaâs efforts to support programs that address the regionâs most pressing human service needs received a boost recently with a $13,000 grant from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation.
The grant will be applied to several United Way-supported programs that collectively serve more than 23,000 children, families and elderly local residents.
âDuring a time when nonprofit organizations are seeing much greater demand for services and reduced government assistance, this grant represents an important partnership in United Wayâs work to address our communityâs greatest health and human care needs,â said Paul Hebert, United Way of Greater Nashua president.
United Wayâs partnerships with nonprofit agencies help families attain economic self-sufficiency, improve the communityâs health and help children reach their full potential.
âOur long-standing support of United Way and its local agencies is based on a shared goal of strengthening communities and making opportunity possible,â said Ken Sheldon, Bank of America New Hampshire president. âThis grant will enhance several programs in the Nashua area that have already proven incredibly effective.â
