Nashua woman wins $1,000 Winter Holiday Stroll gift basket

NASHUA – Great American Downtown announced that Becky Shaughnessy, of Nashua, won the Ultimate Downtown Shopping Experience gift basket containing more than $1,000 worth of gift cards and merchandise from more than 40 downtown businesses. The contest began as part of the 2011 Winter Holiday Stroll. Shaughnessy said she and her family make a point of kicking off their holidays every year with the event. “We wouldn’t miss it,” she said. Shaughnessy said she entered the contest after being encouraged by a coworker. Presented the gift basket at Cardin Jewelers, Shaughnessy began using her gift cards immediately with the purchase of four beads for her bracelet. “Our contest generated a lot of excitement downtown – both business owners and visitors alike couldn’t wait to find out who would get to take home the fabulous prize,” said Rebecca Dixon, of Great American Downtown. Coordinated by Tim McMahon, of MCM Social Media, the contest took place on Facebook.
