Nashua South students stretch inquisitive minds at Science Olympiad

On April 6, high school students from across the state participated in the Science Olympiad at St. Anselm College in Manchester. The annual Science Olympiad is a competition in which teams of 15 students compete in science-based categories that vary from Astronomy and Rocks and Minerals to Thermodynamics and Genetics.“When I first came to join Science Club, I was really intimidated and was afraid I wouldn’t be good enough at science,” said junior Kunal Shah, a new science team member at Nashua High School South. “But there is such a wide variety of categories that its completely OK if you are new to the topic because the material is fun and real. … It’s so easy to get passionate and wrapped up in your topic.” Shah and sophomore Jackie Chea, who is also new science team member this year, placed second in Forestry.
