Bishop Guertin High School students involved in the world languages clubs gathered in the cafeteria after school on March 26 to create Easter baskets for the homeless and the needy. The majority of the Easter Basket Drive consists of the members of the French Club, the French National Honor Society, the Classics Club, the Latin National Honor Society, the Spanish Club and the Spanish National Honor Society. All of the materials, gifts and baskets were donated by these students. Gifts ranged from large chocolate bunnies to coloring books. More than 50 students showed up to help with the packaging. French teacher Paul Jacques oversaw the operations and organized the students so effectively that they were done within an hour. Jacques ensured that all of the Easter baskets were laden with gifts before they were wrapped and tied with ribbons. Then he directed the loading of all of the gifts into several cars and sent them on their way.
