On a Monday in February, senior Hayley Farwell walked into the back lobby of Hollis Brookline High School to see a gigantic banner obscuring the schoolâs mission statement:
âOur mission is to inspire lifelong learning and â Hayley, will you go to prom with me?â
Beneath the sign stood senior Andrew Cappetta, holding a red rose.
Two days later, senior Jeremy Heard was sneaking around the school, hiding roses with little notes tied to them. Senior Kellie Messer was a few minutes behind him, an anxious smile on her face.
She, along with a couple of friends, collected the roses that were scattered all over the school. And at the end of the scavenger hunt, she was rewarded with a âpromposal.â
For those of you who donât know, promposals are, well ⦠proposals for the prom.
That Friday, the entire student body was together for the annual pep rally.
