Pelham Memorial School students excel at music festival

PELHAM – Pelham Memorial School’s flute, clarinet and brass chamber ensembles received seven A’s and two B’s, along with excellent comments, at the New Hampshire Music Educators Association Solo & Ensemble Festival at Plymouth State University on Feb. 16. The festival allows students the opportunity to perform musical selections in front of an adjudicator who not only grades the performance, but also takes a few moments to work with the students. All of the adjudicators had positive comments and suggestions for the Pelham students. The students earned A and B ratings in all of their instrumental performances. The students had the opportunity to observe performances by other schools before leaving. This is the eighth time Pelham Memorial participated in the festival. The ensembles are under the direction of Paul Santerre, instrumental director.
