NASHUA – Jenn Hosking, the Nashua Public Library’s supervisor of teen services, has been promoted to assistant director. Hosking joined the staff in 2004, soon after earning her master’s degree in library and information studies at Syracuse University. Since then, she has been a frequent visitor to Nashua’s middle and high schools, where she has introduced students and faculty to the library’s books, DVDs, events and online resources geared to teenagers. She also has been active in the New Hampshire library community, having served as president and webmaster of the Young Adult Librarian’s Section of the New Hampshire Library Association. “Working at the Nashua Public Library has been a great learning experience for me and has really allowed me to grow professionally,” Hosking said. “I’m very excited to continue my career here in this capacity and look forward to new challenges.” In addition to assisting Library Director Jen Hinderer and filling in for her as needed, Hosking will oversee the library’s budgets for purchases of books, DVDs, CDs, e-books, audiobooks and other materials. She’ll also represent the library on several civic and community committees and work with staff members to develop and implement ideas for innovative new library projects. One project she wants to pursue is attracting 18- to 30-year-olds back to the library.
