Thanks for help with observing Lithuanian Independence Day

To the Editor: I write on behalf of the Lithuanian-American Brothers And Sisters (LABAS) of Greater Nashua, of which I am the current president. I would like to acknowledge the generous and efficient assistance of Mayor Donnalee Lozeau and her capable and friendly staff in helping to make observance of Lithuanian Independence Day on February 16 possible. I know from the numerous favorable comments I received from attendees that their efforts before and on that cold, wintry morning are very much appreciated. We were able to honor with a brief speaking program, flying of the Lithuanian national flag and laying of a tri-colored wreath at City Hall not only our patriotic ancestors who fought and died for freedom in Lithuania, but also those who emigrated to settle in Nashua and add to our city’s rich cultural heritage.
