Hollis Brookline High School updates security measures

On Dec. 14, everything unpleasant was thrown in the spotlight as news quickly spread about how a gunman entered Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut and shot 20 children and six adults. He didn’t simply walk into the office, however; he had to shoot his way into the school because of the locked doors and buzzer system. He then stalked throughout the halls, passing classrooms that were in lockdown, killing children ages 6 and 7, as well as staff members. He then killed himself when the first responders arrived on the scene. The horrific events of Sandy Hook have sparked heated debates on mental health, gun control and school safety.
