In October, many juniors and sophomores at Campbell High School opted to prepare for the SATs early by taking the PSATs. They were held on a Saturday, and students spent four hours preparing for one of the most important tests of their lives. Now they know just how much their hard work really paid off. On Monday, the PSAT scores were delivered to the guidance office, where the counselors set up a plan so they could meet with all of the students in groups to help them better understand their scores. Most students seemed pleased  with their scores, especially one junior. “I took the PSATs last year, and knew that I had done so well when I got my scores back,” said Alex Trevains, who also took the PSATs as a sophomore. “But today, I improved so much, and feel like the SATs might be a little easier.” Most juniors who took the PSATs as sophomores saw dramatic improvements in their scores, and also believe that when they go to take the SATs, they’ll be much more comfortable knowing what lies ahead. The guidance department also gave all of the kids a tool called CollegeBoard Quickstart. This tool tracks your scores from this year, shows the top colleges that apply to you based on your interests and allows you to review the questions you missed, along with supplying explanations of the answers you got wrong. Quickstart also has a personality profile.
