Nashua North to perform ‘As You Like It’

The Nashua High School North Titan Drama Club will perform William Shakespeare’s comedy “As You Like It” at 7 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, Dec. 6-8. The Titan dramatists will take to the forest of Arden in one of the bard’s most delightful, witty and daring comedies. The production remains true to the text, while updating the setting to the 1960s, highlighting the timelessness of Shakespeare’s displaced forest dwellers. Although rooted in Elizabethan culture, the play raises questions about the nature of liberty, gender games, and themes of renewal and regeneration wrought by the changing landscape of the times. Director Kevin Fanning, a new English faculty member at North, brings his professional theater experience and love of Shakespearean comedy to the Titan Drama Club for its inaugural exploration of the works of the immortal Bard. The club has expanded its efforts to include using its resources to benefit members of its own community.
