Windham High places second at first math meet

WINDHAM – The Windham High School math team finished second in its division at its first meet at Masconomet Regional High School in Topsfield, Mass. Of the 13 teams competing in both divisions, Windham was third overall behind Pinkerton Academy in Derry and Amesbury, Mass. Windham finished ahead of teams from Dover, Londonderry, Oyster River in Durham, Winnacunnet in Hampton, Portsmouth, Somersworth, Timberlane in Plaistow, Great Bay e-Learning Charter School in Exeter and Masconomet. The members of the team include seniors Matt Browne, Cassie Cole, Daniel Rubery, Andrew Sun, Joey Federico, Pat Stap and Josh Hebert; juniors Blake Allgood, Alex Fitzgerald and Joseph Zannoni; sophomores Emily Bouley, Danielle Fischer, Maddie Riese, Alessandra Shipman and Sarah Zannoni; and freshman Connor Carbonneau. Windham had two students recognized for top individual performances: Fitzgerald earned a perfect score of 27 points and Rubery earned 24 points (missing one question). During the team round, the students also had a strong performance, scoring 27 points out of a possible 30 points, which means they missed one question.
