While growing up as the youngest of three siblings, Phil always wondered what it would be like to be a big brother. So now, seven months into their match, Phil is a Big Brother to 12-year-old Jonathan. Becoming a Big Brother has given Phil a new perspective, and he said he has learned a lot about himself in the process. “Having a Little is a great opportunity to be able to make an impact on someone’s life while learning about yourself,” Phil said. “It’s a two-way street.” Phil’s relationship with his Little Brother is important to him; he puts a lot of emphasis on trust and accountability when it comes to his friendship with Jonathan. Match outings such as meeting at the Greater Nashua YMCA, playing paintball, indoor rock climbing and attending sports events have provided an atmosphere of learning and adventure.
