Spirit Week, the best week of the school year at Alvirne High School, is a one-of-a-kind experience.
Among the many events held last week, each day had its own theme.
The first day was Saturday Morning Monday, when students came to school dressed in Saturday morning attire â e.g., pajamas or other sleepwear. Also, seniors met in the Hannaford parking lot for a senior breakfast of doughnuts.
Tuesday was Jerry the Janitor Day. Jerry Michaud, a longtime janitor, recently announced he will be retiring at the end of this calendar year. In tribute to this âAlvirne High School legend,â as senior Justin Stickney put it, students dressed in jeans, a white T-shirt and suspenders â the outfit for which Michaud is famous.
Wacky Wednesday followed.
