Every day, students at Nashua High School North create mounds of waste in the form of plastic water bottles. This bottled water addiction is not only a waste of money for students, but also harmful to the environment. While water bottles can be recycled, many get tossed carelessly in the garbage. One North student came up with an idea that would not only help the environment, but also save students money. Senior Avalon Lustick is working on a plan to reduce waste and overconsumption in the school by eliminating plastic water bottles and replacing them with  reusable ones. Filtered water stations would be installed where students could fill up their water bottle instead of buying a new one. This project, called “Ban the Bottle Titan Remix,” is sponsored through a program by Brita to help reduce the amount of waste in schools.
