NASHUA – The 20th annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk will be held at Greeley Park at 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. There is no registration fee. This milestone event will unite the community to honor and celebrate breast cancer survivors, educate women about the importance of prevention and early detection, raise funds for the fight to end breast cancer, and commemorate two decades of making a difference in the fight to end breast cancer. The American Cancer Society held the first Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks in Boston and New Hampshire, including Nashua. This year, Making Strides in Nashua will be one of more than 270 events across the country and one of eight in New Hampshire. Money raised will help the American Cancer Society provide free resources and support to women diagnosed with breast cancer. Dollars raised also fund research and help ensure access to mammograms. Since 1993, 8 million walkers across the country have raised more than $450 million to help the American Cancer Society save lives and create a world with less breast cancer and more birthdays. For more information, call 1-800-227-2345, email strides_nashua@cancer.org or visit cancer.org/stridesonline.
