In her words: Cancer survivor Cheryl Palucchi

My name is Cheryl Palucchi, and I am a five-year breast cancer survivor. This will be my fifth Making Strides walk, and I’m team captain of Ginger’s Girls. However, my cancer journey actually began in 2005, when I had my thyroid removed and determined that it had the beginnings of thyroid cancer. But because we caught it so early, I didn’t need to have any further treatment. In March 2007, I started having pain in my right breast. I thought I had pulled a muscle.
