Nashua Cub Scouts visit USS Salem

NASHUA – Cub Scouts from Pack 253 recently visited the heavy cruiser USS Salem, enjoying an overnight stay on the ship and an opportunity to see what life was like as a sailor. The Scouts also learned from a USS Salem crew member how to safely secure an injured sailor, played by Webelos Scout Alex Miller, into a portable stretcher and then move him through the ship to sick bay. The USS Salem, the world’s only remaining heavy cruiser, is now a floating museum in Quincy, Mass.
