Hollis Woman’s Club awards scholarships

HOLLIS – Amy Schunemann, daughter of Peter and Mary Ann Schunemann, and Stephen Rossetti, son of Richard and Teresa Rossetti, were the winners of the 2012 Hollis Woman’s Club $1,000 scholarships. Schunemann will attend Messiah College, where she plans to major in nursing. At Hollis Brookline High School, Schunemann was a member of the National Honor Society and the swim team. She also has been a YMCA lifeguard, a youth group leader at her church and a Girl Scout for 12 years. Rossetti will attend the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he plans to major of premed/finance. At HBHS, Rossetti was a member of the National Honor Society and the cross-country, baseball, winter track and math teams. He also volunteered at MooreMart, where he participated in the preparation of care packages to send to troops in Afghanistan. Lori Dwyer, president of the Hollis Woman’s Club, presented the scholarships at the school’s Awards Night on June 14. The club also presented the valedictorian, Maggie Borkowski, with a gift certificate to Barnes & Noble.
