Nashua Catholic teacher Elaine Jubinville is planning to bring history to life for the seventh-grade class as she prepares a Civil War Living History Day at Greeley Park in Nashua, held rain or shine from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 24. Throughout the day, students will have an opportunity to try hands-on activities and see what school was like in a one-room schoolhouse, try their skill at period toys and learn how to play âtown ballâ and dance the Virginia Reel. Civil War re-enactors will demonstrate what the life of a typical infantry soldier might have been and what he carried in his knapsack.
