NASHUA – A medication take-back day will be held 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 28, in several Greater Nashua communities. National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is coordinated by local law enforcement officials and the Drug Enforcement Administration, along with Beyond Influence, a United Way of Greater Nashua program that includes a network of community partners focused on reducing substance abuse in the region. The program seeks to reduce misuse of certain prescription and over-the-counter medications, especially among youths, and to reduce the presence of pharmaceuticals in local water supplies. Any prescription or over-the-counter solid-dosage medications – i.e., tablets and capsules – will be accepted. Illicit substances, such as marijuana, cocaine and heroin, and intravenous solutions and injectable medications won’t be accepted. Medications will be accepted at these locations: Brookline Safety Complex, 3 Post Office Drive. Hollis Police Station, 9 Silver Lake Road. Hudson Walmart, 254 Lowell Road. Litchfield Town Hall/Police Department, 2 Liberty Way. Merrimack Police Department, 31 Baboosic Lake Road. Nashua Public Works Garage, behind Conway Arena off Stadium Drive. Wilton Police Department, 7 Burn Hills Road. For more information, visit www.justice.gov/dea or www.beyondinfluence.org.
