Tokyo Joe’s raises $550 for Avon Walk for Breast Cancer

NASHUA – Tokyo Joe’s Studios of Self Defense hosted a women’s self-defense seminar on March 22 to raise money for a local team of women who will be participating in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in Boston on May 19-20. Nearly 30 women of all ages learned basic self-defense techniques and simple strategies to avoid threatening situations. Grand Master Bobby LaMattina headed the class, which raised $550. LaMattina has more than 42 years of experience in the martial arts and has taught numerous seminars across New England to help with bullying problems and women’s self-defense. In addition to the proceeds from the self-defense fundraiser, students and parents from Tokyo Joe’s have donated money to the Avon Walk team.
