NASHUA â The Nashua Lodge of Elks honored four local men for their activities during the 2011-12 Lodge year and the installation of its new officers for 2012-13 in March.
Ervin W. Leonard, of Hudson, a trustee of the Nashua Elks, was selected as the Elksâ Officer of the Year for his adherence as an officer and his extracurricular activities of volunteering to do cooking for most Elk functions and serving as the safety inspector of the lodge facilities.
Douglas J. Tremlett was installed as Exalted Ruler for a second term for his successful leadership during the past year.
Trent E. Michalewicz was named the recipient of the Elk of the Year Award for his hundred of hours of volunteering for the betterment of many of the Lodge activities, such as the commitment of a $10,000 grant to help at the Nashua Soup Kitchen & Shelter once a week by assisting with buying and cooking food and serving dinners.
