HUDSON â Samantha Arroyo, of Hudson, will join thousands of women and men in the upcoming Avon Walk for Breast Cancer Boston, raising funds and awareness to help defeat breast cancer and support those facing the disease. Arroyo will participate in the noncompetitive event and will walk a marathon and a half (39.3 miles) over the weekend of May 19 and 20. This is her third time participating in the Avon Walk, and she is training hard and raising funds in preparation for the event, she said.
Arroyo was inspired to take part in the Avon Walk Boston when her mother, Deborah Reilly, of North Hampton, was diagnosed with breast cancer.
