A murder is being planned at Campbell High School â or more accurately, a murder-mystery play.
The French IV students have been working hard at writing, acting and memorizing all semester in order to put on an original mystery play en Francais on Wednesday, April 18.
âItâs a mystery like an Agatha Christie mystery. Everyone has a motive,â French teacher Leslie Kahn said.
Throughout its classes, the French department focuses on unique, hands-on language learning. The assignment can be anything from translating French music to connections projects based around any other school subject.
âThe educational part of the activity is that students get so much more out of a hands-on activity than they would any book work,â Kahn said.
Not only does this benefit the students of French IV, but the entire department, as well.
âThe other French levels will come to see it to practice listening to French and to enjoy the show,â Kahn said.
Each of the dozen or so students in the class is tasked with creating his or her own character, motive and dialogue while collaborating with the class as a whole to create the five-act play.
âWeâve been making a lot of progress fast,â junior Chris Elliott said. âSince weâre writing it as a class, weâre a lot more involved.
