Supply of utensils, dishes came by mail

I sometimes find it amazing what people collect, until I stop and think about what is in the back of my china closet and how it got there. Living in the same place for more than 40 years allows for a lot of collecting, especially if you rarely throw anything away. Back in the early 1970s, our high school got enlightened and allowed girls to take shop classes, and boys to take home economics and learn to cook. My daughter took a class in woodworking, and among the things she made was a replica of an antique spoon rack. The spoons I have on display are not yet antiques, but they have certainly reached the collectibles stage. I have never seen any others like them, but they must have made thousands of them. In the 1960s, you could get a wide variety of items for $2 and three box tops.Image may be NSFW.
