NASHUA â A âWe Are the Dreamâ youth program will be held in celebration of Black History Month at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, at the Hunt Memorial Building.
The event will include a puppet show, motivational speeches, a live performance by the rock band Figure 8, and step dancing and artwork by members of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua.
The event is being hosted by the trustees and Friends of the Hunt Memorial Building.
âWe want to show how Nashuaâs local youth are fulfilling the dream by doing great things in harmony with one another to make positive contributions to their world and our community,â said Stephanie Allen, program coordinator for the Black History Month events at the Hunt.
âSome of the young motivational speakers will talk about evolving from troubled backgrounds and achieving success from individual effort, educational support and strength of purpose in planning their goals.â
The fun will begin with local puppeteer Sandie Dillonâs Ms. Faith Popcorn and Friends puppet troupe, who are planning a surprise performance, including lots of humor and song.
