NASHUA â On May 19, an anticipated 1,000-plus youths in grades 6-8 from across the Northeast and possibly the U.S. will join those from the Nashua area in the Big Day of Serving.
The Big Day of Serving is a faith-based community service project organized to transform and revitalize an entire neighborhood in one day. Nashuaâs French Hill section has been chosen as a location site for 2012, one of nine locations selected for the spring 2012. The 1,000-plus youths will gather at Keefe Auditorium in the morning then head out to serve others by helping to rejuvenate a neighborhood.
Theyâll tackle an area the size of several city blocks and bring help and hope to people by working on projects such as painting homes, building decks, landscaping, cleaning and beautifying city parks, cleaning vacant lots, and beautifying the local school.
