HOLLIS â Thomas Bayrd, foreman for the Hollis Public Works Department, was named a âRoads Scholarâ in a program for municipal road officials at the University of New Hampshireâs Technology Transfer Center.
The program establishes educational requirements for municipal highway officials, offers courses on subjects essential to effective road management, and recognizes participation and achievement.
Bayrd received the Master Roads Scholar award, the last of four levels of achievement, for completing 100 hours of training in the program and meeting subject area coverage in road design and construction; tort liability and safety; technical aspects; environmental; and supervisory and personal development, which is required for Roads Scholar 2.
