Friends in a learning relation

EDITOR’S NOTE: This is one in a series of articles celebrating the Adult Learning Center’s 40th anniversary. The Adult Learning Center is celebrating 40 years of Opening Doors of Opportunity. Since 1972, the Adult Learning Center has helped more than 120,000 adults earn their GED diploma, learn to speak English, become skilled employees and work knowing their children are provided safe, nurturing care. Iryna Batsevich and Geri Botsch have become close friends through their student-tutor relationship. Batsevich arrived in the United States five years ago from her native country of Belarus after winning the green card lottery.
