Alvirne’s ‘Jukebox Heroes’ draw a crowd

Alvirne High School holds a cabaret each year to showcase the talent of the music program. This year, the 16th annual Cabaret is has the theme “Jukebox Heroes,” and will include performances by the concert band, jazz band, woodwind choir, symphonic band, Alvirne Singers, Nothin’ But Treble choir, Men’s Harmonics and the B Naturals. Every group chooses its music pieces and practices for months to make sure everything is perfect for the show. Elizabeth Beaton, the choral director, and Gerry Bastien, the band director, have put countless hours of work and rehearsals  into the production of this phenomenal concert. The shows will be held at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 23, and 1 p.m. Sunday, March 24, in the gymnasium. The show will include a number of classics, as well as modern music, and the variety is sure to please every member of the audience.
