NASHUA – Several 21st Century Extended Day Program students’ designs decorate the city of Nashua’s 2012 recycling calendar. Copies of the calendar are available at the Solid Waste Department, Division of Public Works, West Hollis Street. Mayor Donnalee Lozeau recognized the 12 students at a reception at City Hall. The students created their colorful designs after working with a local graphic designer to learn about the calendar’s design elements, taking part in a workshop to learn more about the benefits to the environment with recycling and traveling to the city landfill to learn about recycling efforts in Nashua. Students whose artwork was chosen were: Destiny Rivera, Ashley Aguilar and Gareth Skelton, Fairgrounds Elementary School. Meghan Nadeau, Karen Chen and Nicholas Conroy, Mount Pleasant Elementary School. Natassia Ponton, Ledge Street Elementary School. Fatima Amador and Joshuanys Isaac-Muriel, Dr. Norman W. Crisp Elementary School. Maya Langa, Malaysia Langa and Bianca Jean-Pierre, Elm Street Middle School.
