Hollis, Amherst students finalists in speech contest

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Eighth-graders Annalise Groves, of Hollis, N.H., and Ryan Quinlan, of Amherst, N.H., are two of the 10 finalists in the Eleanor Crow Public Speaking Competition at Applewild School. The speech award is given to the best speech writer and presenter in the eighth grade and is announced at graduation in June. This year’s theme for the speeches was “This I Believe.” Groves’ speech was titled “Enjoying Those Around You,” and Quinlan’s was titled “The Power of Work Ethic.”
