Last week marked the end of a long semester for students at Nashua High School South.
Final exams were held Wednesday and Thursday, which meant that last weekend, students from all four grade levels had to face the age-old question: To study or not to study?
Hopefully, most chose the former, but some seniors were exempt from taking their exams. If a senior has an average of 90 or above in a class, it is the teacherâs discretion whether that senior has to take the final.
This senior privilege has sparked a lot of heated debate within the student body every year. While some see its benefits in motivating seniorsâ high achievement, others worry that the policy is unfair to underclassmen.
âI agree with the 90 or above rule because it rewards hardworking, dedicated students,â senior Hugh Phillis said.
