Nashua resident Miller named to lead 42nd Infantry Division

New York Army National Guard Brig. Gen. Harry Miller, a Nashua resident and a two-tour veteran of the Iraq War, was named to lead the New York Army National Guard’s 42nd Infantry Division. Miller, a former member of the New Hampshire Army National Guard, had been serving as deputy commander of the 10,500-member New York Army National Guard since March. Prior to that, Miller was on federal active duty serving as garrison commander of Fort Drum, near Watertown, N.Y., and rear detachment commander for the Army’s 10th Mountain Division while the division headquarters was deployed in Afghanistan. The 42nd Infantry Division, which is headquartered in Troy, has 20,000 soldiers with elements in New York, Vermont, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New Hampshire. The New Hampshire Army National Guard’s 197th Fires Brigade is a component of the 42nd Infantry Division. Miller replaced Maj.
