NASHUA â Big Brothers Big Sisters New Hampshire State Alliance announced it was awarded a $20,000 grant from Bank of America for its school-based one-to-one mentoring initiative.
The Big Brothers Big Sisters Alliance is a partnership of the four BBBS agencies in New Hampshire â Greater Nashua and Greater Salem, Greater Seacoast, Western New Hampshire and Greater Manchester. Their combined service area covers 83 percent of the state.
âOur service delivery practices, child safety procedures, volunteer training, match support and match activities are focused solely on effecting positive outcomes for youth facing adversity,â said Joy Barrett, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Nashua and Greater Salem.
âBank of Americaâs investment in our statewide school/site-based mentoring program is a generous contribution to our New Hampshire BBBS agencies and will yield a great return on investment. With the support of Bank of America, we are able to match more children with role models and advocates in impactful mentoring relationships in New Hampshire, which in turn provides youth â both Littles and our high school Bigs â with the greatest opportunity to achieve academic success and reach their full potential.â
