A few lines about drying clothes

I usually do my wash on Monday – a habit of long standing – and then dry it outdoors. On a recent Monday, however, the temperature was about 20 degrees, and I now refuse to hang out the laundry to freeze. I spent too many years of my younger life doing that. That long-ago housewife had good reason to wash Monday. A regular routine was needed to get everything done. The family took baths on Saturday night in order to be ready for church. Consequently, the sheets were changed on Saturday.
