Guidance steers Campbell seniors on road to future

The only thing on seniors’ minds at Campbell High School these days is their future. The main topic in the senior hallway is college and the military. Students’ worried voices are the only sounds, telling friends that they hope they get accepted to their dream schools, while others haven’t even applied for college yet. Campbell’s guidance department, which is run by Lisa Petry, with lots of help from administrative assistant Sharon Ford, works extremely hard. They make sure seniors are their top priority, even during a period when seniors and other students are trying to change courses for next semester. Campbell encourages students to make the college process easier by visiting key websites such as www.naviance.com and www.commonapp.org. Campbell’s involvement with these websites makes students’ life a lot easier through the stressful college searches. Since most colleges are on the Common Application website, this gives students the ability to fill in college apps and save each one for all of their colleges. Ford then can easily send all of the students’ teacher recommendations, along with their transcripts, on Naviance.
